Research Committee

The Research Committee of the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists, Inc. performs limited research in Massachusetts. Please e-mail the Research Committee at: research@msoginc.org with your request and include MSOG Research in the subject line. We prefer to communicate by e-mail to keep you up to date with how the research is progressing.

If you are using snail mail, enclose a long, self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with your request. If you have an e-mail address, please include it. Mail to:

Please specify the maximum amount of money you are willing to spend on research fees and other charges for this request. We ask that a prepayment of $15.00 be made before we begin work on your request.

We ask that you be specific about the information you request and prioritize the material you send us in order of importance.

Our research is done by experienced volunteers, although none are Certified Genealogists. There is no charge for general information such as addresses of research facilities and general advice on your research problem in Massachusetts.

If you wish to have a researcher work on your complete family history, we suggest you contact the New England Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (NEAPG), http://www.neapg.org. A list of professionals with their varying specialties is provided and you can choose the person that best suits your needs by looking in at the "Members".
